Went about 7 years ago. I found the XB-70 Valkyrie to be the highlight of the trip. Too bad that one was never operational.

Yep, that Valkyrie is a BIG sonofabiscuit! VERY impressive aircraft, but probably ahead of it's time... plus they'd have been SO expensive that they couldn't have risked losing them... Plus it was easier to build missiles to shoot it down than to make it faster than the missiles trying to kill it. Stealth gave a whole new direction-- don't outrun the opposition, just be invisible... can't shoot what you can't see...
