Sheryl says we have to find homes for the orphan reserved kits.
We have the following unclaimed, low production numbers for recent kits:
Taurus #20, #21, and #22
SLS Lil' Hustler #9, #10, #13, #14, and #15
Mars Lander #26, #27, and #30.
SLS Hustler #14, #17, #18, #19, #23, #24, and #25
SLS Aero-Dart #9, #10, #14, #18, and #20
As future orders are placed, we will be shipping these in the order shown from lowest to highest until they are gone. I mean placed.
We are going to have to get a better system for reserved kits in the future so we don't leave these little ones without a home for so long.

Carl,
All I've got to say is ARGGHHH! I wish people wouldn't reserve kits if they're not going to buy them. The collectors out there end up losing out due to them. I'd have loved to have gotten #9 or #10 of the Aero-Dart. Why not require future reservists to reserve using their credit card #?

And what, if I may ask, can be done to "accommodate" those who don't believe in nor use
credit cards?! I wouldn't mind getting one of those SLS Lil' Hustlers after witnessing (and
photographing) Harry Spears model last weekend (see my pics posted at the Mission
Control subject heading; Challenger 9/3/06 Launch)...

Send them a check, money order or paypal deposit.

Well, it worked out for me - Production #7 'Hustler' USED to be on that list ;-)
(Thanks Carl!)

Don't believe in credit cards ay ?
Must be tough to do any sort of buying via the internet or bidding on auctions ay ?
I probably do 90% of my hobby buying via the internet and credit cards.
I would probably only purchase 25% of what I have if I went back to the old methods of checks & money orders just due to the PIA factor alone.

No, not really. I have plenty (and I do mean plenty ) of OOP vintage kits in my collection that will keep me busy (and happy) for many, many years. And, with the number of outstanding active vendors we have in our area, I have no problem getting what I need
from them directly (usually at a nearby local launch) without having to worry about paying
shipping and handling. From those I've placed mail orders, the trust built between myself
and the vendor is really great; some vendors have already shipped what I ordered before
receiving my payment in the mail (one time, the package arrived at my door the same day
I mailed the payment!). I've been able to enjoy the hobby this way for years now...

Must have been Semroc.......Got an order from them once before I made the payment. Something screwy with PayPal IIRC. And never, ever ever had to wait more than three days for the order to come in. Ship on Monday and it's on my doorstep Wednesday.

Yes, you're right (partly); SEMROC was one, and there's another from here in Texas that I will
not name just yet...

I don't agree with using credit cards either. (Too many people getting rich by "offering" to put others in debt. Get a real job!) If I don't have the extra cash, I wait until I do. I've solved my internet problems by getting one of those VISA check cards for my account. Can be run just like a credit card on any transaction. I've even started doing it this way at retailers that have a PIN keypad and sign the receipt instead, since there have been security breaches of PINs being stolen from retailer's systems. Even though the card touts that you won't lose any money from your account due to a fraudulent transaction I just don't need the hassle of straightening it out. I only use my PIN at my own bank's ATM. ;)

One of the easiest way to earn some quick extra cash for those models is to work part-time
at one of those pizza delivery outlets (won't need to name any). I work a few hours on most
Friday & Saturday evenings near where I live and can earn a quick $60 - $80 dollars-in-my-
pocket cash just like that...one reason why I don't need credit cards for incidental expenses.
