Credit where it is due. I got the inspiration for this 24mm Black Powder two stage from the original Barclone design here (http://forums.rocketshoppe.com/showthread.php?t=8091)

The result is:

More Barclone inspired designs are in progress.
Thanks to all

Ahem! :D

You know, of course, a full write-up and some form of plan (like a RKT file) will be expected.

So, how'd it go? Nice launch shot, and looks like a beautiful build. How well did it fly? Inquiring minds want to know!

Yes. I have the ROCKSIM file. I'll get it uploaded to the studio.

It flew great. Conditions were calm. I had an Adept ALTIM 1 along for the ride on a D12/D12-7 stack. Given all those fins and strakes it recorded a respectable 1690'. There was no damage to the booster or the sustainer. Chute size was 16 inches. Next time I'll give a D12/E9 combo a try.

You need a nice high-res catalog shot of that bird.

Here's a nice one of the Sun glinting off the bird and the glow of the motor.

I'll post a nice high rez when I post the rocksim file.
Thanks all

Wait til you see what else BARCLONE is inspiring. (Hint: Look at Craig's avatar).

Wait til you see what else BARCLONE is inspiring. (Hint: Look at Craig's avatar).

On both of the prototypes I've built, I managed to get a landing crease in the main BT just above the fins, and they have both racked up chute line tangles (lines snarled in the fins and pods) at deployment. Heads up...

Beautiful rocket and great photos!!

At first I thought you were launching next to a lake (until I noticed the fire extinguisher.) :o

Thanks. I think the chute issue may still persist... we'll see. Just remember I said 'inspired by'.

Thanks so much! BARCLONE is FULL of inspirational designs and I still have not figured out why this amazing resource goes unappreciated. I suspect, to be honest, being on YOF is not getting it the wide appreciation it deserves. But that is PURE speculation. :o

The vast array of just upscale possibilities is staggering. The whole schoolyard sounders deserves upscales. Not mention 100s of others.

As for Deucey 2.5, the whole paint job close up shows blunder after blunder. Really bad. But from 5 meters or more, she looks the doddle!

Cheers!
