As I drove up to my local hobby store today I noticed orange "50% Off" signs in every window and the window displays were empty.

I've seen that look before.

As I walked to the door I tried to delude myself into believing that maybe they were just moving but the sign on the door said otherwise.

About a month ago I started a thread here about the impending demise of the hobby shop industry but I never imagined that THIS hobby shop would be next. It always seemed very well run with a huge and varied selection that catered not only to the hard core hobbyist but to the browsing grandparent as well.

I feel a huge sense of loss at the passing of this store, both for myself and for the fine people who worked there.

Is this for all Riders locations ?
Which one did you see this in ?
I better take a ride to the Flint store to get some goodies if so !

This was the Rider's in Madison Heights. As I understand it the various Rider's are each independently owned so it probably doesn't affect the other stores.

I work in Warren, but live 10 miles from the store in Flint....they are not all indep. owned.
I will swing by the Madison Hts. store on Monday.

The one in Canton closed up shop last year.

I'm pretty sure the Flint and Grand Rapids stores are owned by the same owners.
I'm gonna have to root through the rocket engines on Monday in Madison Hts.

There were almost no engines left.

If I remember right, a pack of 1/2 As, a couple of packs of E9-8s, and a pack of D11-Ps.

I'll grab the E9-8's if they are 50% off....are their R/C engines & radios 50% off ?
