Hi Gang,

I was roped into... err, I mean volunteered to editing our NAR section newsletter (ASTRE #471, www.astre471.org) and I need a scan of a pre-damon hang tag with the old ESTES logo. Can anyone assist?

Thanks!!

What do you need exactly? The whole hang tag or do you just want the pre-Damon logo? If it is just the logo then I think I have that drawn up in Illustrator. Let me know.

How about this from the Mark plans? http://www.dars.org/jimz/estes/k-02.pdf

No, not the header card... I am looking for a scan of a pre-damon hang tag. These were after the bagged 'White header card' kits as soon in the above Mark link, but befroe the 'a subsidiary of Damon' was added. These would have the older estes logo on the with the capsule orbiting the word ESTES.

Yeah, hang tag like I said ;)

Sorry, I do still have the pre-Damon logo if you need it.

I'll listen more carefully next time ;)

Thanks Leo, That is the perfect hang tag I was looking for!!

And Kurt, sorry for the confusion, I see I asked for a hang tag.... but my subject line says header card. I guess that I am at least as confused as you.... :p

Fred,

Pardon my butting in here, but I glanced at that newsletter too. Nice work!

One "OOPS!" to bring to your attention: In your "Notes from the launch bunker", you describe the "STS-114 launch of the Columbia". Shoud be "STS-114 launch of the Discovery". It's the Columbia and her crew that we remember...

Thanks Craig,

I have the Columbia ever burned into my memory as I actually woke up early that day to
watch the landing...... :(

I have made corrections and sent to my section's self proclaimed 'web geek' to be posted.

Columbia's landing flight path was going to be close enough to my house (almost directly overhead), I was planning to go in the yard and watch for the "red dot moving very fast". I had been watching the internet feed, and knew what moment the shuttle was going to pass. That moment came, and no shuttle. After a certain length of time, I knew something was wrong and went inside to check the screen. That's when I started hearing the orders to "lock things down". Cold shivvers...

I still see Challenger the same way, burned in my brain...:(
