I have a USLI team from Notre Dame wanting to do one of their test flights this weekend. Just in case the launch is canceled due to weather will that information be announced here or Facebook or something like that? It's been a few years since I've been to Bong but is there anything I need to know prior to bringing all of these college kiddos out there?

For those unfamiliar with USLI this is a competition put on by NASA. Among many other requirements, they are trying to hit a mile AGL. They'll be flying on a Loki L930. Thanks.

Have you posted the question on the WOOSH facebook page?

In the past two years, I don't think I've seen an outright cancellation.

No I haven't. Just wanted make sure I am watching the right channels because we are going to be driving about 3 hours with about 15 or so people so as you can imagine, getting all the way out there and having it canceled would be a huge bummer.

It would be a bummer - and I wouldn't be around to help you do drown your sorrows. (I own a craft hard Cidery across the road from Bong - but will be in Chicago 2/27)

Here and Facebook are the best channels to watch, I think, for WOOSH.

Wildman will have all pre-orders delivered at Bong, he will not have his store on site. If you were planning to buy your motor on site you must place your order online today (Friday), that's a heads up to anybody doing a L1 cert flight.

Also!
The launch will go as planned, Looks like winds may stay under 20 up to noon, after that it's predicted to be very windy.

So if you want to fly get there at 9:00 am, otherwise it may get too windy after 12 noon
