Eglin Exercises

Eglin AFB is running bombing exercises in the Gulf of Mexico starting yesterday 3/14/16 until 3/17/16.

They will be bombing boats.

Don't know what's going on, but I've been seeing Navy/Marine helicopters flying all week. I'm in the northern half of West TN, so there's no reason for them to be flying due west in my area. Millington TN (Memphis) has a base that I don't think is very active anymore, but they would have to fly southwest to go there. They used to work on fighter electronics anyway. I don't know if they ever did helicopter work there.

I've seen pairs of CH-53 Sea Stallions or possibly Super Stallions (can't see if 2 or 3 engines), and Super Cobras flying as singles and pairs. I'm pretty close to the 101st Airborne, so I'm used to seeing green Blackhawks, Apaches, and Chinooks, but nothing painted Navy grey, and nothing as big as the CH-53.
