I searched the forums for this before posting, so forgive me if this has already been discussed.

I am looking for the best way to fill plastic nose cones. I've tried using testor's plastic model cement, but it was too hard/dense to sand effectively. What are you guys using out there?

Thanks.

I recently used some Elmers Carpenters Wood Filler and it worked well to fill in one of the corners on my SDI Satellite that I had sanded through!

Really? I tried some of that stuff and it didn't seem to stick to the plastic very well. I wonder if Epoxy would sand better.

I usually use squadron putty. Can be picked up at Hobby Town.

I've been using Bondo brand Glazing and Spot Putty. It works very well. Sticks to the plastic great and is easy to sand.

I've used it as filler on balsa fins and tubing seams.

I use the Tamiya Basic Type Putty. Dries quickly, sands well.

Sticks fine for me, if I rough up the cone first. It sands great, but of course, is not very durable. I'll have to try that putty sometime.

I also use Bondo spot putty on plastic. It can be found at your local Wally World as well as any auto parts store.

Squadron or Tamiya putty here. Tried the Testors putty and couldn't get it to "stick" for anything. But mostly, I just scrape with the hobby knife and sand with 400 grit, I rarely need to use the putty.

I need to try the scraping first. That sound like a very good idea. :D
