Has anyone else seen the Estes 'Oracle' add in the new
SpRroketry issue? Kinda harkens back to 'The Lovely Tracie Reeves' days.

Yawn.

It is certainly getting the attention, however. There is quite an active thread on this topic over at TRF.

I'm not all that interested in the rocket, mostly because of the prices I've heard tossed around, but the ad is very impressive.

Still my favorite AMSPAM cover. :)

The price wouldn't bother me as much if the quality was there, but from what I've read
it's not. Also, the claim "For the first time ever...." is more than a little marketing BS.

Personally, I think it is kinda cool, but I can't justify dropping $130 on a rocket that - with my luck - would end up in a rocket-eating tree on the first flight! ;)

Besides, I'm looking at cheaper alternatives (I bought one of those $20 stick cams at Target that I'm gonna try to modify when I get a round tuit.)

Damn, I loved those old NCR ads with her modeling the rockets! Was she MS's girlfriend? :D

Heh, no. I asked Matt about her quite awhile back when I bought a bunch of his old catalogs from him. Matt stops by here from time to time. Maybe he'll chime in?

No, I was not that lucky... Traci worked for with my fiance/wife, so that's how I got to know her and use her for the NCR photos.

Matt,

Any chance of you bringing back the F62's. Those were really good engines. I got back into rocketry right at the end of Estes/NCR and only got 5 or 6 before they disappeared.

You know, all of this cheescake talk with NO ONE using the photo option is REALLY getting my boxers in a wad. Someone post a picture of this NCR girl or I won't be responsible for the actions of my boxers.

How about one for $77.04? I've gotten quite a few rockets from this supplier, all very cheap.
I'm not affiliated with any school either. They don't even ask.
