Please check out Vern's web page, it has been updated with pictures and a video of Mabel in action in Denver, as well as the move to Penrose and the laying of cement blocks for the new buildings , very interesting stuff. 3:52 minutes

When pointing people to go to a website it's always a good idea to include the link to the site. Here's Vern's site:

Outstanding! I could watch video like that all day.

It looks like Vern and Glenda were very involved in everything from the rocket end all the way to helping build the buildings. Man that was a different time...

I wonder if Vern has any other old video laying around that he might put up on the site.

Great video! Sure wish there was more.

We owe so much to G.Harry, Vern and Gleda, and the rest of the pioneers, Irv, Lee. Lonnie. I like the pay it forward bit, as it let's one see yourself in the actions of those youngsters you are helping now. Keeps you young at heart, you know? :)

Vern says this is the only known video of the original Mabel - I remember seeing a different video at a Pittcon in '70 or '71, better quality, maybe in color showing tubes going around the table and being pressed. By then it was probably Mabel 2 or 3 and Damon had taken over so Vern might not have access to the film if it still exists.

Pittcon, I remember those good old days. Was to many of those back in that time period.

There was video and photos up for sale on ebay last year, I have no idea who the final bidder was because it was a closed auction, all going to the highest bidders, off of ebay.

A lot of good stuff, but, I think the price was out of reach for anyone to touch.
