Used the CC Express kit, shortened the booster, got a BNC55-AO from Thrustline, replaced with 18 mm engine mounts, cut my own fins and recreated the first two-stage rocket I ever did back in 1977 (I think). Finished this quite some time ago, but couldn't download photo on my home computer, so had to wait until school started (I'm a teacher). Anyway, nothing special, just a trip down nostalgia lane. Anxious to put it up, along with everything else I have to launch. Hope the pic works.

Another great kitbash, Six...

Good to know Thrustline has that cone also.

Very nice. What motors will you use for your first flight?

Thanks. Probably go B6-0/B6-6 on the first flight and then C6-0/C6-7. Unless of course, 'cause I feel pretty good about it I just go with C's from the get-go. Probably be cautious, though.

Cool. The B6-0/B6-6 and at least you'll get both parts back! Nice kitbash. Did you use Krylon Gloss Black for the upper section? I like the gloss black finish.

I bought some Krylon Gloss Black and Fluor Red/Orange to try out on a project this weekend if the humidity holds out.

Yep, that is Krylon Gloss Black . I'm done with the "cheap" paints. The Krylons cover and look so much better.
Yeah, the humidity is a killer. It's 97 degrees here every day with high humidity. Got up early today to glosscoat the Cherokee-DD (finally).
Ya know, I have never been much on using the lower alt. motor options. I will, sometimes, just to check performance, but I pretty much want to operate them at max altitude. Now, I do have a Quest AGM 2-stage that kinda requires some backing off. If you haven't seen it, it's about 18" I think without looking with the Quest version of a BT50. So, it's small and the max C6-0/C6-7 puts it over 2000 feet very quickly. So, I have used the B6-0/B6-6 combo (that is still like 1200-1500 if I remember correctly) and it still gets out of sight. Plus, it is so light, any wind at all and it will visit another zip code, as I am strictly a parachute guy. The Vigilante is decent size so it should be easily trackable, expecially with the black/yellow scheme. Anyway, starting to ramble. Good luck on your project.

Looks good.

my own Vigilante clone turned out excellent - one of my first clones started 10 years ago, finally finished a year or so back :P . but waited years to fly due to our dandelion field - not flying yellow boosters on that, they blend in :P

tried to upload a video clip of flight last Aug, but wont allow.

here is a still pic.

Nice, and oh man, that sure looks like a nice place to fly.
