Looking to build a clone of this one.

( due apologies to the Centuri purists, :p )

basically a generic E2x rocket with red, white, blue decor.

does anyone have info ( tube length ) and especially .. the decal scan for this bird ?

if so, please send to myself and to Scott ?

thanks in advance for any info,

I have a Screaming Eagle that I have not opened yet. It is Estes kit #2117. Let me know if this is the right one and I can probably scan in the decals for you.

Red, white, and blue E2X? Then it's not this one:

It sounds like you are describing the Centuri Screaming Eagle:

It looks like what Al described, a "generic E2x rocket with red, white, blue decor" but the nosecone appears longer than the E2X's I've seen.

Ah, so. Interesting... I've never seen one of those "lunar launch pads" before. The whole set looks strangely non-Estes-like. I notice that the included launch stand does not appear in the "Launch Systems" section as a separate part, nor does that rocket appear in the kits. This is not true of anything else in the "outfits" part of that catalog.

Could this be a one-off deal? The first of the Chinese-made rockets, perhaps?

EDIT: Oops. Appears that several of the starter-kit rockets are only found in starter kits. But that Lunar launch stand does appear to be unique.

Yep, that's the one.

Might be a longer cone, looks like the PNC-50YR cone, not a PNC-50K.

Same kit as, for instance, the Lancer ? or a stretched Kadet/ Star Trek/ etc ?

If anyone had the decal, I can guestimate the lengths, just wondered if anyone had the kit.

Funny how kits we would have scoffed at when new, now we want to clone, lol. ( like my Challenger II clone, originally a no painting required quickie kit... now = fill the tube spirals, sand the fins and cone, paint everything and use repop decals,a nd clearcoat it all, go figure, lol )

Not sure about the decal - I think I've seen it before on another rocket (Estes sometimes recycled their decal sheets into new kits). As for the rest, here are my guesses based on the catalog photo:

Nose Cone - PNC50YR (same one that comes in the Nova Payloader)
Fin Can - plastic fin can from the Skywriter #2 (pencil)
Body Tube - BT-50W, 9.5 inches long. (I scaled the catalog photo up to BT-50 diameter and measured it. Comparing the measured length to the standard BT lengths, 9.5" is the closest).
