Has anyone made a flying model of the classic Jupiter II? It seems like it could be a nice stable saucer design. Also, with a little LED application, you could have the rotating lights on the bottom. Maybe the ejection charge could somehow make the landing legs deploy and shift the weight aft so it would come down right side up. Just thinking out loud here.

That sounds like a great idea... looks like you just got your next scratch build!!! Go for it!!!

Well it's not the Jupiter 2, but I'm working of a flying version of the Invaders saucer. It has a sharp trailing edge that I'm told makes it more stable. I wounder if the taper of the J2 will make it unstable?

Surely of you can fly a CD, the J2 can be made stable

The J2 flew today! I posted over on TRF. Went very well! about 30-40 ft on an A10pt.

The top dome got dented on landing, the upper and lower hull split along the seam for about 60 deg. But the worst is a split in the plastic at the motor mount. It can all be fixed, nothing major.
