I am looking to join a club in the South and North Carolina area. I was thinking aabout ROSCO as a starter.

If you could post info here about clubs in the area and launch times and dates and locations, it would be much appreciated.

I know now how to get to Orangeburg.

Thanks to all,

RD

Tripoli East Carolina has a very nice conglomeration of fields in eastern NC (I remember measuring it out in Google Earth, it might have been something like 6,000 - 8,000 acres, but I've forgotten the exact number) where they fly every month that there isn't crop interference (usually September through the winter to ~May of the following year). Though not technically a NAR-affiliated club, there are several NAR club members, including myself, a few even with certification. Performance Hobbies is almost always present at launches as a vendor for kits, motors, and parts.

Here's the information:

The town is called Bayboro, just outside of New Bern, and the next launch is coming up on September 27th.

You should mention Greenville NC because I'm in Greenville SC and that's a long ways out :(

ROCC in Charlotte is a great club. I drive 3 hours from Durham just to fly there because they are a great bunch of guys. There is a great mix of low power , mid , and high power. Unfortunately the current field is not available in summer and early fall. The next official launch is in November.
