View Full Version : Ye Olde Rocket Shoppe Auctions

Ye Olde Rocket Shoppe started out as a manually run auction site back in 1998. You can see an example of one of those old auctions here:

http://www.imc-ltd.com/rockets/indexauct24.htm

I later got my own domain name and expanded the website. I added an automated auction program years ago. For awhile it was popular, but I stopped promoting it and it fell by the wayside.

With eBay's charges going up and up, people are looking for other avenues to auction off their rocketry items. The YORS auction always has been and always will be free of charge. Feel free to stop by at http://www.rocketshoppe.com/cgi-bin/auction.pl to either put some rocketry items up for sale or to place a bid.

Should the YORS auction become popular enough again, I will upgrade to the software to the latest version that has many of eBay's features in it. You can see a demo of what the new software looks like here: http://www.auction-script.com/cgi-bin/auction.pl

To make the auction site easier to find (even though it's in the menu on the main Ye Olde Rocket Shoppe site) I added an auctions link to the main nav bar here in the forum.

One other thing that's been confusing for people. The forum and the auction site are two different entities. I've had the auction site up since early 2001. The forum didn't go up till early 2005. A number of you signed up on the auction site years ago and just don't remember doing it. ;) The password used here in the forum is not at all linked with the password used on the auction site. If you forgot your password on the auction site, you can go to the Member Services link in the auction site to have it sent to you. Here's a direct link:

http://www.rocketshoppe.com/cgi-bin/auction.pl?action=member

If you don't have a login account on the auction site, just click on the Register link there to set yourself up with one.

For those of you helping out with getting the auction site rolling again, I recommend that you post a link here in the for sale section to the item you're selling on the auction. That will help get buyers going over there until things get really rolling again.

Anyone bidding (or planning to bid) on the items I have posted, PM me with a zip and let me know the item and I'll try to get you a shipping cost. These boxes are 4X4X22. This evening they will get wrapped for shipment so they should be at their final shipping weight. Thanks.

Hey Don,

I'll have to dig around the basement to see what else I might want to free up. Not much interest in the stuff I've added so far.

I almost hate to do this but...

Come on everyone. We want to encourage sellers to put there stuff here instead of elsewhere. I've won a few things and there are some others for which I am the only bidder and it looks like I'll pick up some steals. I like that but would like the buyers to think this is a GOOD venue to sell.

Come on and bid...except for the ones I'm bidding on.

The guy I feel bad for is the one where my $6 bid is winning. I'm not complaining, I just feel bad for him and YORF. I really do want this to work out since I will not be doing the Ebay/Paypal thing anymore.

They used the old MPC launch pad mold for that. Too bad they didn't include the cool ceramic blast deflector that MPC sold with theirs. I've got one of those sealed Canaroc pads. Someone was blowing them out a number of years ago on eBay. I don't recall who. I also have two or three of the MPC pads. Those are cool, just like the old Cox pad.

Due to severe storage issue I'm considering selling all my cold power kits in one lot.
Not necessarily looking for big bucks $$$, but for someone to be a true collector and preserve these kits.

Probably around 30+ kits between original Vashon and Estes cold power convertibles.

Thanks
Dave

Sir,

I would love to be able to afford this collection but I know I cannot and will not even try. I do humbly request, however, and photos or scans you might have of the packaging or instructions for a project I am working on.

Hi JAL3;

I will get some photos it maybe a few weeks or so, they are at a storage
other than my home.
Some kits are sealed, so photos may not be of any help.

Just as a side note, I loved the auctions of the late 90's, some of those got pretty heated and a bunch of great stuff was available.

I think Yitah Woo must be a millionaire now.
