I found this kit on Ebay the other day and submitted a bid for 20 bucks and won. I wrote to the seller and requested only the rocket. The seller gave me a good deal on the rocket and shipping and they kept the train stuff. Total I paid was 17 bucks.

Wow! Very nice find!

Will this go into the collection or the build pile?

I was never planning on buying this Estes kit since it was produced before my time, but I did buy 3 Semroc X Kits. I will put this in the build pile, but I think it will be deep in the pile.

I got my kit in the mail today, wow this thing is old. The body tube is a hard white tube with no spirals, just one vertical center seam. What a bargin.

yep, that's an original BT-30. That tube was available like that until at least the mid 70's, when they went to spiral wound, and then phased it out by 1978 in favor of the Bt-20.
