You could go back in time to 1973 and buy them from Estes for 0.25 a piece. A steal!!

Except, that is $1.15 in today's money. Considering the rise in price of balsa over the past few years, $1.05 is dirt cheap, and with today's CNC cutters, you probably get a more consistent part.

Ahhh...is that a question, a request, or a statement?

That's the old balsa Mosquito cone.

I guess that's true, in 73' they were probably 8 cents a piece, the whole mosquito rocket was only $.49

Nose cone would still be the most expensive part of that kit, still beating out the packaging/instructions, and probably still came out to more than a dime of cost for Estes, as I don't think they were yet pricing parts and certain kits as much for distribution. By 1981 they were charging $0.95 for the BNC-5V !! Only four cents less than the Mosquito kit!!

You could always do what many of us do....

Turn them yourself, it's not that difficult and once you get the hang of it you can do a bunch in a very short period of time;)

But I'll bet if you consider the amount of time spent, materials and equipement you'll find that 1.05 really isn't that bad a deal. even if you only use minimum wage :chuckle:
