I shot some clear coat last night. It sucked, dulling the shiny silver finish on my newest Midget upscale, but the rocket is nevertheless deemed finished. Here's a little write-up I did on it and two other new motor eaters, all ready for maiden flights.

BTW, it was Minwax's water-based acrylic over silver. The silver is the problem. It can't live without a clear coat, and it can't live with one :)

Yeah, Doug, that really looks like hell. Who'd want to show up at a launch with a rocket finished that poorly. Geez, you can almost see a tube spiral or a balsa grain.
Dulled or not, those look great. Looking forward to the flight reports. Are you flying this weekend, or waiting until 2006?

Future Floor Polish has been friendly to my rockets. I haven't put it on silver spray paint yet, but it really made the Citation Patriot metallic decals look wet and shiny!
