View Full Version : Apogee Centrix fin pattern & tube length?

Hello All,

Does anyone here have the fin pattern (or dimensions) and body tube length for the Apogee Components Centrix kit (see: http://www.rocketreviews.com/reviews/all/oop_apo_centrix.shtml , http://www.rocketreviews.com/reviews/all/mod_apo_centrix.shtml , and http://www.rocketreviews.com/reviews/all/oop_apo_supercentrix.shtml )? I found a couple of Estes Mosquito plastic nose cones (which are very similar in shape to the Centrix nose cone), and they would be good to use for some slightly scaled-up (0.45" to 0.543" diameter) 13 mm motor Centrix "near-clones."

Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help, and I will also pass this information along to Scott so that everyone can access it.

Let me dig around, as I'm pretty certain I have a set of the diecut balsa fins for this one.

Although the Rocsim file is posted, so if you have that, or someone can download it and post the diminsions ( would be easy to just draw the pattern, it's a simple trapezoid ) .

ALways loved this bird, flew many of em on the micro motors, although my only 2 stage B2 to B2 attempt at NSL Geneseo ( forget he year, 97 maybe ) , catoe'd :(
the non spectacular cato did make the Rocketman video though, lol, with all the HPR stuff .

wish these motors would come out again, always nice stuff - Bill, you listening ? did not the Chinese factory you got the D5's from list an off the shelf mini B and micro motors ? :D

Hello Al,

I thank you very much! I'm afraid that this old, small-memory Dell would choke if I tried to install RockSim or any other programs that would take up a lot of memory. I'd love to see Tim bring back the Centrix as a Micro Maxx powered bird--it would be a good-performing sport model with those motors.

Maybe Bill could get a Chinese fireworks factory that makes the larger bottle rockets (about 3/8" in diameter) to produce 10.5 mm "A" and "B" micro motors? (Crazy thought: Imagine a scaled-down, minimum-diameter Centrix sized for the 6 mm Micro Maxx motors! It might be hard to follow to apogee [and during descent], but what fun!)
