Hi all,

I have e-mailed Apogee 2 or 3 times in the last month for the key and nothing.

I just want it to work..

I dunno,

Have you ever run RockSim on the computer you're using now?

If you have, do a search for the license file, which has ILF as the extension. Once you know where this file is located, then you can direct RockSim to look for it and use it when you run it again. Each version of RS has its own license file, so a license for, say, V7 will only be good for V7 and not 8 or 9.

If you've run RS on another computer and want to transfer it to a new computer, locate the ILF file and copy it over to your new machine, then point the application to the file. As long as the versions match, you should be able to run it without licensing issues...

That's most unlike Tim Van Milligan to neglect a customer that way. Sure your messages got through??

I had problems with RS on my computer and had to reload after my BIL basically wiped the machine and reloaded from the master disks. I had copied my license file to a CD like Tim advises doing in the paperwork that comes with RS, because he charges for a new license file if he has to send you one. Thing is, I couldn't find the CD. I wrote to ask about one and he told me some interesting things... I had loaded RS onto my folk's computer at their house so I could play with it while I was there, and so I asked how to copy the license file off their computer since I couldn't seem to find it.

He told me that NOBODY knew where to find it... once it was loaded onto the computer the computer stored it *wherever it wanted to* and didn't list it on the registries or whatever-- it just used *found* it whenever it *needed* it. He said that neither he nor the programmer knew where it was on the hard drive... He told me to "just try reloading it and see what happens" because a lot of times the computer will "remember" the license file and enable Rocksim on a reinstall even after everything RS related has been erased off the HD. I tried it and it worked. Even after a complete hard drive wipe and reload, it "remembered" the license file and plugged it into RS...

Of course I found the disk a few days later... LOL:)

Good luck! OL JR :)
