Hi all,
I did a search for Tyvek here and saw references to using it as a laminate component for strength on centering rings and as hinges for helirocs, but nothing for recovery devices. To be clear I'm thinking of the thin, soft very flexible type used to make haz-mat suits, not the thicker, shinier house-wraps. My thoughts are that it's tougher and more flexible than plastic, yet lighter than ripstop nylon. Anyone try this or have other opinions?

PS- I don't install a 'chute in every rocket- I have a few chutes of various sizes that I install in the model before flight.

It sounds like it would also make a good streamer material.

Another source for smaller quantities is shipping envelopes.

Which I usually pick up from the P.O. as hinge material for boost gliders. ;) The Tyvek suits seem more flexible and fabric-like than the envelope material.
