Russ Snella has volunteered to assist with the development of nametags for rocketeers. I anticipate opening up orders for these soon and we'll need to have a minimum order amount.
The 501st legion nametag pictured below is an inspiration for us to pattern our tags after.

The legion logo is a separate plastic part which is glued onto the lazer engraved tag. In our case the part would be the WOOSH logo, or the NAR logo, or the TRA logo. I intend to have all three available so that anyone who wishes to have a nametag can order one.

Four? Do you have Alias'?
Chad on some days and Dahc on others?
Dark side days?

Some days I'm above ground, some days under. There's a day/night issue as well...

I'd order at least one NAR version for myself, and maybe a couple more for gifts.

Yes I would like to order one as well.

Scotty, are you offering to do this for all, or primarilly for WOOSH members?

Don't get excited yet. It's in planning stages now.
When we have it all nailed down we'll figure out how to take orders.

We once had a public model rocket "regional sport launch" at La Puerta School in Claremont, CA where name tags were issued to all comers. It took a crew of two but we got it done.

Just letting you know there is interest. I know how hard it can be to get a minimum order together. Don't forget us when you get them ready. :)

Russ is going to talk to his vendor on Friday.
We should have some progress soon.

I think that this kind of merchandise is long past due for the
rocketry community.
Stick on and pin on temporary nametags are needed at large events
but at regular launches nametags are non existant.

First timers who come to a launch will be much more inclined to talk to you
and learn more about what the club is all about if they see your name and possibly
title on your badge.

Do the names need to be real? or can they be nick names

You can put whatever you want on the nametag as long as it doesn't
cross the line. No vulgarity or other offensive wording.
We want our hobby represented well.

So I guess Beavis' sidekick is out of luck?

Since nobody else asked, I shall. Can you get more than one logo on a tag?

I would think that the nametag maker could adjust the font
size to do that. The officers rank markings won't be on the rocket namebadges
so that will open up some room.
Yeah,

Russ told me last week that he still hasn't found time to work on the badges so I contacted a vendor today. Sent them an order for a sample badge using the WOOSH and NAR logo's.
If you guys still want to put World Spacemodeling logo's on badges I'll need the file in vector format. I'll be in touch
