Feel free to add any pics you took.

[Edited by LTVScout to add descriptions for the photos.]

From the left the first pic shows Vern and Gleda Estes in the Old Rocketeer's Open Forum.

The second pic is showing Scott McCrate holding the Estes Astron Scout that Jay Apt flew in his first or second shuttle mission. ALL of the Estes family had a hand in building this model. They also built an Astron Mark (not Mark II) that they had Jay fly in another shuttle mission. They gave that rocket to Jay after the mission.

The third pic is a closeup of the Scout in its protective container.

The fourth pic is me (Scott Hansen) with the Scout.

The fifth pic shows almost all of the people that were in the Old Rocketeer's Open Forum. Bill wasn't in it since he was snapping, plus one or two other people were taking pictures as well. From the left we have Jonathan Sivier, forgot the second guys name, Jack Kane who's head of the NAR S&T and on the NAR board, Thomas Pastrick, Vern Estes, Gleda Estes, Stewart McNabb who's the NAR Treasurer, Joe Magginnis (sp?) who runs the A Shasta plans site, Scott McCrate, Scott Hansen and Bob Kaplow. I know that Jay Apt and Don Altschwager were also in the room but aren't in this shot.

The first pic from the left shows the first Farside X and the prototype for the Astron Scout. The people in this picture from the left are: Jack Mohney (MoJack), Dave Seer (WOOSH Member) and Mark Smeiska (WOOSH Member).

The second picture is me goofing around with the first ever Big Bertha. Vern built this rocket to use at demonstration launches. It proved to be so popular that they later made it a free plan and then a kit. It became the largest selling rocket Estes ever made. I believe it is now also the "oldest" kit still made.

The third picture is showing me hoarding all the beer at our beer lofting contest. The "contest" had already been going for a couple hours by this time and most everyone else had dropped out by then. Kelo is sitting next to me with a cool beer bottle shadow on his shirt. I don't know if that's an artifact from the flash or what. Pretty cool though. ;)

The fourth picture shows Mark Thell from I believe the MASSA club paging through some of the Estes' memorabilia. He's holding his Mars Lander kit that he had Vern autograph for him. I don't know the other two people to Mark Thell's left. That's Mark Smeiska's head in the far left of the picture.

The fifth picture shows a closeup of one of the many glamour shots that were on Vern's Big Bertha.

How 'bout some names to go with the faces in the group photo?
Looks like you all had a great time - I'll try to get there next year.

Sean,

I'll go through and edit each of Bill's posts above so that everyone knows who's who in the pics. At least as far as I remember the names.

Okay, let's try this again. I SHOULD be the one on the right. (Parents are strongly cautioned. Photo may contain nosehairs.)
