Starting The Year In A Big Way

Welcome to the new BARCLONE forum area!

The original concept of "BARs Helping BARs" has proven to be a success, as evidenced by the volume of messages strewn throughout the various "Scrounged" and "Designer's Studio" threads. What started six years ago with a few simple designs from one person has now become 600 designs from over a dozen contributors. That concept continues with the new forum structure.

Notice the new sections for "Hardware" and "Software", for example. We want to encourage contributors to think about things other than just the models. These areas are for more advanced items, such as launch support equipment and computer programs (like RockSim), as well as yet-deeper topics such as microcontroller design and programming. Yes, I'm into those geeky things, too, and I want to get more involved with them as we go forward.

The "Designer's Studio" is now a full sub-forum. What I would like to see is contributions of new designs to be in their own separate threads, instead of continuing in a single thread like we've been doing. This will make it easier to index new designs, and work as a reminder to all of us which designs are the most current.

The "Catalog" will keep a running total of our designs, with an indexed list of which messages the plans can be downloaded through. This has already been started, and will continue in the same manner. Please remember, do not post to the index thread. This is a strictly in-house thread for viewing and locating plans.

We hope these changes will improve the quality of the discussions on BARCLONE, and open the forum up to even more ideas and topics. To everyone, we thank you for all of your support!
