"FoxTrot" Creator Bill Amend
You may have seen the follow comic strip before:
http://www.ucomics.com/foxtrot/ Earlier this week, I dropped the creator this note, and got the following response. Cheers, --Jay > Dear Mr. Amend, > > Hi! I've noticed you've featured model rocketry in your cartoon over > the years, and just wanted to let you know that those particular cartoons > brought me lots of special chuckles. I see that you were born in 1962, as > I was (it's amazing how many "Born Again Rocketeers" were). > > I won't pretend to guess which company you might have preferred, > but I could only get Estes products by mail order. > > Thanks so much, and cheers, > > --Jay Goemmer I was an Estes guy. Can't say I was a huge buff... only made half a dozen rockets or so. We never had a good place to launch them where they wouldn't end up in trees or lost in the neighborhood. Bill Amend |
Heh...
Sounds like someone should invite Bill to either a local club launch or a regional/national meet...
(I can just imagine what Jason Fox and his buddy in the Foxtrot strip will end up building after Bill sees an "M" motor launch!) :D Thanks for the post, Jay! I've often wondered about Bill's involvement in model rocketry, myself. :) |
If you want to impress me, get a response from Jason Fox. ;) :D

Actually when I was doing a club newsletter about 15 years ago I "borrowed" one from Bill (giving him full credit of course) I only read about four comics, but his is one of them...mainly because of Jason and Marcus!
