Phew! Crisis Averted!

At 10:38am CST today YORS had a database failure with the table that holds all of the attachments. I was ****tin' bricks because dummy me had not been making proper backups of the database. My last backup is over 2 years old.

I tried running a repair of the table from my end but no go. I'm no MySQL guru so I left the fixing in the hands of my webhost. One of their admins just got back to me to let me know they ran a manual fix of the corrupted table at the head end and got it fixed. Phew!

Now to work on a CRON routine for doing a nightly DB backup.

cron is your friend. A somewhat weird and communications-challenged friend, but a friend.

They're still having some issues on the server. The site was just down for about 10 minutes again due to the /var directory filling up with error logs. Hopefully everything is smooth and back to normal soon.
