Estes Lynx Build Nearing Completion.

This one is going rather slow - the model was started in early May. There are a lot of little balsa pieces to fill and sand, not to mention all of the odd joints, nooks and crannies that have to be dealt with.

Finally got the first coat of primer applied this morning, but it showed up a lot of places that need to be further worked.

I'm really looking forward to getting this baby finished and flying!

My Lynx is still in the ba, waiting for me to complete a multitude of other projects that I never seem able to finish all the way, (an Andromeda, USS Atlantis, Trident, Orbital Transport, Xarconian Cruiser, Mercury Redstone). I did complete a Scorpion earlier this year (build thread on an another channel Scorpion Build and have flown it once.

I hope you're having as much fun building the Lynx as I did! I built both the Lynx and Scorpion immediately after the kits were released.

BTW, I used Testor's Sublime Green rattle can enamel on the Scorpion.

Nice pair of birds!

Yes, the Lynx has been a very fun build, but I am taking my jolly sweet time on it. Lots of tricky little pieces and parts involved which makes it a challenge to finish properly. I would almost be inclined to give this one a skill level 4 rating.

I'm leaning toward a dark blue color scheme on my particular model, with a matte finish except for the cockpit canopy. Also looking at applying some additional 'scale' details.

I seem to have this thought that a futuristic/exotic model is in reality a scale model - just one of a prototype that doesn't exist yet!

A lot of add-ons will depend on how soon I want to get this beastie off of the work bench and out to the launch pad.

Shot the final color coat this morning.

I opted to go with dark blue rather than 'kit' black. I think it will look cooler....

So, just need to let this baby cure over the weekend, and it will be ready for detail painting and decals next week.

Looking forward to getting this one in the air soon.

Nice bird.

As soon as someone wants to send me a kit, I will enlarge it to a more comfortable size and share my results.

Any takers? :)
