Show's I watched as a kid.
 

I came across this yesterday.
Like it say's on the bottom of the page, I could add to it a lot more but leave that up to you guys.
The only show I don't remember is Sealab 2020.

Lost in Space is one for the oldtimers. But most of the others I don't even recognize. How many here remember Sky King?

Anyone know the name of his plane?

I recall Speed Buggy, but that would have been towards the end of my Saturday morning cartoon watching. Probably it was out around '72 or so...possibly a year or so longer.

I recall another one, Speed Racer, on Ted Turner's station (forgot the exact call letters before it became known simply as TBS) at my grandparents around '75 or so....never would have seen it otherwise.

And as Mojo commented, Lost in Space is the only really 'old' show on the list. Recall that one very well as a young kid in the latter sixties. Could only enjoy it in black and white, since we did not get our first color set until it was off the air (first season was b&w but seasons 2 and 3 were in color as I recall).

Interestingly, Danger Island was not actually a saturday morning show by itself - it was part of the Banana Splits. This show combined the talents of Hanna-Barbera with Sid and Marty Croft (H R Puffnstuff). The live action portion of the show was filmed at Six Flags over Texas for the first season and at King's Island for second season. Don't know if they are still doing so, but Boomerang was running episodes of Banana Splits a while back.

Sky King's ranch was the Flying Crown Ranch and the plane was the Songbird. There were actually three Songbirds - the first was a Cessna T-50 "Bamboo Bomber", while a Cessna 310B and D were Songbirds II and III. I think that Sky King is the reason that the 310 has always been my favorite civilian aircraft.

Thanks for the Bananna Splits connection to Danger Island. Danger Island did not ring a bell with me initially when I first looked at that list, but I did recall the Bananna Splits when you brought them up. We lived in the Atlanta area at the time and Six Flags over GEORGIA was a pretty new attraction then. Though I think we understood that the Bananna Splits were not filmed there, we kind of pretended in our minds they were because SF over GA was a placed we had actually visited.

I did a Google search though on Danger Island just now and watched the opening sequence for the show and part of an episode. Talk about OLD memory cells cranking back to life! I had forgotten all about it until seeing it again for the first time in like 45 years!

Wow....isn't it amazing what our brains actually retain? Now, if we all could just improve our recall mechanisms....
