More sad Estes related news

This was just posted to the Estes Facebook page. I'm reposting it here for those that don't do FB.

With very heavy hearts, we are sharing sad news today. Christine Swartz, our beloved Estes customer service specialist for over 26 years, passed away the morning of October 8th. She was loved dearly by all who worked with her and will be greatly missed. We have so many customers that knew Christine by first name; when other team members filled in for her, customers would request to talk to Christine! Please keep her family, friends and co-workers in your thoughts.

Back when I was much more active in the hobby Christine helped me get many long OOP hard to find plastic parts sets for a number of different kits. I'm not sure where she'd find them but I sure appreciated it. She was always great to deal with and every time I ordered stuff from her she also threw in other surprise goodies. Estes has lost a great customer support person.

I am shocked!

She was...a friend.

So sorry to hear this.

I can't recall if I ever interacted with her personally, but, going all the way back to the r.m.r days (circa 1999), I never read anything other than glowing reports of others' experiences with her. She had a fantastic reputation in the hobby. I'm sure she will be dearly missed.

I am really, really saddened by this. Christine was a good friend. Just a wonderful person.

I don’t know what to say....she was always so helpful and fun to chat with in person (as some of us got to do at NARAM this year).

Thoughts and prayers for her family and for the Estes Industries family are indeed in order here.... :(

So very sorry to hear the news of her passing. I talked to her on the phone in the past, and more recently via emails. Always so helpful. She had sent me a friend request on FB after NARAM. It’s so shocking. Condolences to her family and to her Estes family.

Especially sad - Chad Ring (one of my club mates) said a couple montha ago that she was set to retire soon from Estes. Tragic that she passed away before that could happen. Condolences to her family and close friends.

I never met Christine FTF. All my interaction with her was by telephone and FB, but I have to say that she was quite the sweetheart. I am sure that the people close to her will miss her terribly. So sad....
