Yes, that's the one (the Mitosis) that I could picture but not name as I wrote that last posting. Stine also mentioned that nose-blow recovery (mid-body break-apart should work just as well) is also sometimes used for the upper stages of multi-stage models, to ensure that they'll land on the launch field (a "threaded"-on-shock-cord, narrow metallized streamer would sparkle in the sky, aiding descent tracking).

I heard from Karl this morning. From the tone of it, I think he was frustrated that he couldn't give me a better answer. The bottom line is they believe that the mislabeling issue is sorted out as of 11/1/18 production but before that, he can't say which ones may be incorrect.

So, especially with labeled C12-4s, I'd not fly pre 11/1/18 ones in a model that a full six-second delay would cause a crash or near crash, though I have flown some that were correct (or looked that way in models I didn't have an AltimeterThree aboard) as well as ones which clearly ran long (and were likely really C12-6s).

I can also say that post 11/1/18 motors are out there as I got some C12-4s from jonrocket.com fairly recently that are 11/13/18 and a pack of D12-6s that are 11/1/18.
