I always wanted to kit bash a Baby Bertha into a Maxi Streak. But doing anything like that will have to wait until after the Internats.

I second Tims Sprint 60 idea, a baby birtha it's cheap and readily available. So a larger base of participants will make the event more entertaining. And ideas like you can only use what is in the bag, make for an added challenge.

Alright, what's in the bag it is. As you say, that much more challenging.

That'll get us warmed up for when the Saturn kits become available.

For a kitbash I say we can replace the wood used for the fins. Otherwise its too limited. I don't want to build something I don't like just because of some dumb rule.

I agree - I would prefer not being limited to what is in the bag

I'll plan on being in, whatever rules we have.

(Let's try some Briar Patch Logic....)

Please don't make it a contest of building goonies. Please no.

Les 06-06-2018 05:38 PM

So a couple of votes for the Sat V and some for the Baby Bertha
But variations of the BB - limit to what is in bag, allow changing the wood, and a no Goonie request. But by definition isn't a bashed BB a Goonie??

So where do we go from here???

DavidQ 06-06-2018 08:18 PM

Maybe my reference to Uncle Remus was off. I'll bet lots of people ride Splash Mountain at Disney and have no idea what cartoon those characters were from.

Goonies are great. I've built lots. Even a goonie Saturn V and Saturn 1b.

I'm not gonna be a part of this build-off, so my opinion isn't worth much, but as a spectator a goonie build-off sounds like the most fun. No restrictions other than must use the nose cone and body tube intact from the BB.

Just my 2 cents....

David can you post a few photos of your Saturn 1B and Saturn V. Those are my two favorite rockets but I have never seen them done Goomie style.

Thanks.
