New Design - Deucey 2.5 24/24mm Two Stage
4 Attachment(s)
Based on the original Deucey by Craig - especially the fin planform. Two rocksim files. One with, one without a recording altimeter in the payload bay.

The booster "stage" is a slip-over friction fit on a pair of taped engines, right? No coupler (obviously, since it's a BT-50 main tube...) of any sort.
The D12-0/D12-7 and C11-0/E9-6 combos appear to have the best Dv numbers. With a bit of trimming (or lengthening), I bet you could get those numbers down to something even more comfortable (lower Dv is nearly always better :) ). Nice plan! |

I take deployment numbers with a grain of salt. Yes I use them. But as a rough guideline. There is a good +-15% or more in those numbers just based on ROCKSIMs idea of CD versus reality and of trajectory. I try and make very very long, robust, deployment harnesses. I am NOT saying one should launch with a ridiculous chute shredding C11-3 or D12-5 in upper stage or anything silly like that. I am saying I am will to live with Dv's from ROCKSIM higher than I've seen on BARCLONE based on my own experience. Of course YMMV. :D |
