Ooh, pretty. But $650?

ghrocketman 11-07-2011 10:38 AM

I don't think it will hit anywhere near that.
$450-500 is more like it but my bid will be nowhere near that high.

Wow,
I want that kit so bad....but $650? We ordered a 12 foot tall 6" diameter all fiberglass rocket for less than that...

I have heard of sealed ones going for around $600, so this one could possibly get close to that. Just depends on how bad TWO people might want it.

But with a sealed (older packaging) Centuri Black Widow going for over $450 here a couple weeks ago and a Recruiter going for over $250 a week or so ago, this LJII might get on up there.

If I was loaded, I'd pay $650 in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, that's not the case. :(

My guess is it will go unsold, with a reserve set too high.
I could easily pay the $650 for it, but am not willing to go over $400 for ANY kit ever short of something that had less than 500 produced.

I have my two so I don't 'need' another, but I suspect you are probably right on the reserve being set too high: probably right at $550 or so or maybe even $600. But I won't be too surprised to see it go at the buy it now before the auction closes. Ya never know with these things....

Bill,

Shrinkwrapped versions were selling for $400+ on the late 1990's so...

I know of one manufacture who is working to re-release the 1/45 in the years to come but we will just have to wait and see.

Estes is RUMORED to be working on a 1/40th - 1/45 Saturn 1b so there might be fall out from that into the LJII arena.

Again, both are just rumor/speculation but I believe that ALL current manufactures are aware that there is a lack of large scale kits at the present time. The issue is that the economy is bad and it doesn't lend itself well to selling larger and more expensive kits ... or does it?
