Help Needed for Estes Oracle software!!

Heeeeelp!!!

I just acquired an mib Estes Oracle. The problem is loading the software. The laptop that I am taking to the range is a Dell INSPIRON Mini with Windows XP. A small laptop is great. However, it doesn't have a CD-ROM drive. My wife's laptop has a CD-ROM drive. Unforunately, from what I've read, the Oracle software doesn't work with Windows Vista.

Is there a website out there that I can download the Oracle software/drivers?

Thanks.

Try this.

Load the Oracle CD in your wife's computer.

Plug a flash/pin drive into the same computer.

Copy Oracle software from CD to flash drive.

Remove flash drive and plug it into your computer.

Copy software from flash drive to computer.

:)

Thanks Bob! That did the trick.

I plan on launching a few test shots on saturday!

Glad to hear that my idea worked. :D

I have three Oracle cameras and fly each of them with a different booster.

Here's a thread about that:

I wish you good flying on Saturday!

FYI...

Last week, before I posted here, I emailed Estes inquiring about downloadable software for the Oracle. Today I received a response. It is as follows...

We will not have the software available for 4-6 weeks on the new web site.

Thank you,

Christine

That's nice. However, like with the Saturn V that was due out last July, I'll have to see some Oracle software before I believe it.
;)

I see you launched off of an AeroTech Mantis Launch Pad. I like it! :D

Hmmmmm.

Ok Bob, now I'm curious.

Did you have a hand in the creation of the Mantis?

The Mantis launch pad was designed by Dan Meyer, Bill Stine and (maybe?) Grant Boyd.

The Mantis pad was pretty much already designed by the time I arrived at Enertek. Bill Stine was actually building the prototype Mantis when I first learned about it. I DID cut one part for the prototype Mantis pad out of sheet styrene for Bill but I don't know if it was used.

My contribution to the Mantis pad was the paint scheme for the legs (black & yellow).

The square aluminum leg stock on the Enertek version of the Mantis pad was to be 20" long. To save money and weight for the AeroTech production version of the Mantis pad I shortened the legs to 18".
