Woosh launch at Bong 4-25-15

Greetings All,

It's time for the April Woosh rocketry launch at Richard Bong State Park- AKA- Bong. The date is 4-25-15. We will have numerous pads to allow you to fly anything from LPR,MPR, and HPR. We welcome rockets of all sizes and shapes as well as rocketeers in any size or shape 😀.

Can't decide if your rocket should fly on an I,J,K, or L motor, stop in at Tim the Wildmans mobile rocketry shop. After talking with Tim you probably realize you need 1 of each.

So let's hear it-- are you coming and what are you flying?

Not sure about coming - what if I told you a 7.5 inch diameter, 9 foot tall rocket, called the Aaron Rodgers Rocket was flying on not 1, not 2' not 3, not 4, but 5 motors. A central L1520 will start this beauty out then (4) I212 Smokey SAMs will come on line. If that doesn't get you out at Bong this weekend you must be out of earths orbit. Woosh looks forward to seeing Bill's flight.

Rumor has it there will also be a Jay Cutler rocket flying this weekend. I'm assuming it will hurt itself being put on the launch pad and then not be able to fly. Sorry - to my friends in Illinois- couldn't pass it up and last year neither could Jay. OK I'll stop now.

As of now the weather looks promising but it is April and we live in Wisconsin so please Look for more information including weather related updates at www.Wooshrocketry.org

Thanks and I hope to see you there,

Russell Westergaard

Club newbies looking forward to first launch

Hey Russ,

My son Nate and I will be coming down to Bong on Saturday to finally launch some of the fun stuff we've been building over the winter. We also plan to arrive early enough to lend a hand with set up if needed.

Here's what we're bringing:

Mega Der Red Max - H135W for L1 cert attempt
SA-14 Archer - G79w or G80w
Scratch built 2.6" diameter triple cluster - 3x F32J
Scratch built 2" diameter Estes Majestic clone - F44w

Looking forward to meeting everyone in person and seeing some exciting launches!

Matt

We made it to our first Woosh launch at "The Bong" today and successfully launched our Mega Der Red Max on a H135W for our L1 cert. We also launched our SA-14 Archer on a G64W.

Best part of the day was finally meeting Woosh club members in person!! Really appreciate Russ' help and guidance in getting us set up to fly and completing the certification paperwork.

Rex, you went above and beyond by hiking out in the weeds and trees to help us fetch our snagged Archer.

Look forward to the next launch!

Thanks again for a great day!

Matt and Nate Hanson

I figure that, it is a LOT more fun when everyone has fun :). nice shot of the Archer, like how the launch leads are still in the air...which leads me to suspect that the nozzle cap was a tad bit tight. twas nice meeting you and your son.
Rex

If there is indeed a Jay Cutler rocket, make sure you bring a trash bag--so that after it CATO'S it can be "sacked". :D
