"SpearChuka

Something I came up with. I got some stuff off "dyaugo" and JUST had to play. I call it the "Spear-Chuka" Main is a BT-55 with BT-50 inner tubefin and BT60 outer tubefin. Gonna cut down a PNC 50 and set it "up" in tube to make boatttail with 18mm opening. At this point its just "tacked together with CA Gell spots. Ill put the glue to it tonight and maybe build the motor mount assemble.

Motor assemble

Made up the motor assemble tonight. I cut the tip off the PNC 50 so an 18 would slide in it. I then cut the back plug rite off. Put a small pieces of BT-50 on end of PNC and then a 55-50 ring on that. Also used used 4" of BT-20 with 55-20 rings. After its all slid together in main BT it centers itself. I like it. I got the look I was after.

I played with the idea of little tubes up front and use one as a lug.Well I didnt like the look.Reason is I ended up adding 6" to the main BT as I thought it look short for a "spear". After I looked at the little tubes up front I see that it was taking away the long shaft look I wanted in the first place and added the 6". I was going to use a baffle in it ,But now that I got the Bt 55 coupler only 6" down from top of tube..I donnt think that idea will fly. So,as it is ,Ill thro a lug in one of the innertubes on bottom and one up the BT by cg. then thats it. Leave it along..sometimes less is more!

I did not look into this thread until tonight. Now that you have flown it, how did the inner tube fins hold up? The outer fin assemblies look like they will have quite a bit of leverage to deform or even tear the inner tubes. As I was looking at the pictures from the original post down, I was going to suggest reinforcing the inner fin tubes with a balsa fin similar to the ones holding the tubes with the cones inside the outer tubes.
