Estes 1247 & 2053

I'm a little confused on these 2 numbers
On Jim Z's site, the 1247 is the Cherokee D
The 2053 is the Blackhawk.
Estes doesn't list either one on product info or instructions.
I have a 2053 GBU-24 Paveway III
Our good buddy Goodrocks1 has the same in an auction w/ 3 other rockets.
On Ebay there is a "Launchables" one by itself with the 1247 number.
Also one in an auction with 9 other kits.
All are named the GBU-24 Paveway III
I didn't think Estes reused item numbers like this, as this is the first I've seen it first hand.
Can anyone bring some light to this?

I can point you to the instructions for 4 Operation Enduring Freedom models with kit numbers 2053 through 2056:

Here is the first page of the Paveway instructions. Note the double kit number:

hmm, I must have missed them. Need better glasses.
However, on Jim Z's site the 2053 is the blackhawk.
Brings me back to my original question...
Didn't think Estes reused item numbers.
Anyone sound info on why they did this?

I don't have any any sound info, but I can speculate ! :) Something about that Launchable packaging; The Baby Bertha is kit #1261 except when it's a Launchable, then it's kit #1271 which is also a Renegade.

Yes, Estes has recycled item numbers. For instance in the 1975–1981 catalogs, 0802 is the Screamer. In 1997–2014, 0802 is the Quark.
