In your build, you mention trying Tamiya masking tape. I too love the Tamiya tape. Great clean lines every time I’ve used it. Last year I bought a can of Tamiya Surface Primer to try out. It’s a great primer to use on plastic since it has no fillers in it to dull any details on parts. It provides a protective coat on plastic when using lacquers, too, to prevent crazing. Comes in white and light gray.
