My mother gave away my Lionel train set when I was in college. I vowed to never do anything similar to my girls. We have had fun this past year digging out old toys and other childhood items from their basement hideaway. Some my oldest daughter has grabbed for her child (our 1 year old granddaughter), and some we have donated to charity, and the rest will get pulled out in the future.
I suspect some of my collection of unbuilt kits will get consumed when grandchild gets old enough. Arley? His collection could support a few orphanages.
