LOL That brings back memories. I was raised in the South, in a rural area, and in a poor to middle class area at best. With that background in mind, I'm surprised we pronounced Mercurochrome pretty much the right way. We didn't pronounce the first "r", so it started with more of a "muh" sound, but otherwise was about right.

However, we butchered the Merthiolate pronunciation. It was something like muh-thigh-uh-lade. You know, the cool refreshing summer drink sold by kids at the street corner muh-thigh-uh-lade stand.
