Fill the perimeter of the fins with a mixture of epoxy and chopped fiberglass strands before joining the halves. I bought a quart container on eBay for $15 shipped. I have not completed my HoJo, but it’s fins are pretty fragile and this should add much needed rigidity.

The only drawback with that method is the heat sometimes generated when epoxy cures.
It just might be hot enough to do some damage to the fins. And the extra weight of the epoxy.
