Oops sorry I have been spending alot of time in the hospital taking care of health problems and I forgot to do my column here. Below is Both October and November 1958.

10/58 10/1/58 NACA becomes NASA and NASA begins operations.

10/58 1st MMI Ad with American Modeler magazine located at 1159 California St Denver CO

10/58 10/25/58 MMA becomes NAR->On October 25, 1958 an amendment to the articles of incorporation was filed with the state of Colorado to change the name of the association to t he National Association of Rocketry, define the Board of Trustees as a body not to exceed thirteen members, and to define Junior, Senior, and Honorary membership classes.

11/58 The ARS report/study is finished based upon NFPA Report data from MAY 1958. See the MAY 1958 entry for more informtion.
The report/study "Amateur Rocketry: A delineation of the Problem, a Policy Statement, and a Program for Action by the American Rocket Society" will be published in the JUne 1959 issue of Jet Propulsion, Journal of the American Rocket Society.

It would be almost 10 years before the ARS (later the AIAA) would formerly endorse and recognize model rocketry as a safe and educational hobby.

11/58 Hi-Craft Rocket Company of California Not much is known about this pioneer model rocket company. I beleive the Rocketeers Collectors Journal may have more information.
