Default Small Nuclear War could be good for the environment and stop Global Warming!!!

I am vote in the affirmative for regional nuclear war!!! As a child, I was fascinated with Slim Picken's fall from a B-52 while riding a nuclear bomb towards a Soviet missile base:

Here is the National Geographic Article:

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/...climate-change/

So if a small 'nuke war' is good for the planet ... why not have one?!

Jonathan

P.s. has anyone been monitoring the events leading to 2012, Dec 21st?

'May you live in interesting times' ... oh yeah that is a Chinese CURSE!

I heard an interesting comment in the airport the other day. Two young men were discussing the recent events with Somali piracy. "Yeah, we could nuke Somalia, but who would know?" While I am more than happy to consider a millitary solution to appropriate conflicts, when the public seems so callous it is time to wonder where the social conscience lives.

Personally, I think we ought to send about a half dozen fancy yachts into the area, each crewed with about a half dozen Navy SEALS. That ought to thin the herd a bit!

Yeah... anybody remember the Barbary Coast??

The Marines knew how to deal with piracy of US ships in North Africa...

"to the shores of Tripoli"...

One of the Eagle Scouts from our troop is on Seal Team 1. He told me over Christmas they would love to man a few Q ships off Somalia.

On another note, my oldest son is a Marine and when he was in Security Forces, the Navy rebuilt an old freighter to house a company of Marines and sent it to cruise the Phillipine Sea to trap Malaysian/Indonesian/Thai pirates. The State Dept put a full color photo of the ship up on their website and gave background for the mission. Needless to say, the Marines were completely bored for 60 days. The pirates all stayed out of the ocean off Mindanao.

Maybe renaming the freighter the "SS It's A Trap" might have been a mistake...

Except the U.S. wound up paying tribute just like everyone else at the time.
