I'm thinking the booster would need enough to get the whole stack off the ground and moving with enough speed for the fins to take effect, then the subsequent stages would be just enough to counteract the drag and impart a moderate amount of acceleration (namely to decrease chance of scrunching/flexing of the airframe) ? |
