New *tractor* SLV (links)
Hello All,
DARPA is an agency known for generating endless "paper rockets," but one I just came across (the Airborne Satellite Launch Vehicle, see: http://www.boeing.com/boeing/Featur...t_03_27_14.page and http://www.space.com/25549-boeing-f...ches-darpa.html ) has actually been contracted to Boeing (in March of this year). The F-15E-launched Airborne Satellite Launch Vehicle uses a tractor rocket arrangement (similar to Goddard's early rockets), so that both its first and second stages' propellant tanks feed only one set of four rocket engines, which are located at the front end of the 24' (7.3 meter) long SLV. Here are more links to information on this vehicle: https://www.google.com/search?q=dar...gbv=2&oq=&gs_l= I hope this material will be useful.
