Hmmm...could you turn that on a lathe and make it for 24mm motors?

I meant to reply a few days ago, and post a couple pictures of things I’ve turned. I started off like many new woodturners, and made a bunch of pens for friends and family members. Then my interest turned to tool handles. I would not buy a lathe tool with a handle. I had to make it. The gouge handle shown is walnut and maple, with two green dyed maple veneer pieces sandwiched in the maple piece. The brass ferrule is a plumbing hex nut. Non-ferrous metal are pretty easy to turn on a wood lathe. The most difficult projects were the peppermills. The angled laminations made drilling them out for the grinder mechanism a real pain. My bits kept drifting. My wife got one, one was a gift. I haven’t made a third yet ... The other picture is a couple of reversible screwdrivers. Maybe a bit fancy for a screwdriver, but it’s so much fun to experiment on the lathe.

Thanks. Posting these makes me realize my last 4-5 turnings have been balsa or basswood nose cones. Maybe time to make something with some exotic wood, like another pen.
