I've had some success with InkJets, but depending on the printer and/or paper, the inks may run when trying to add a protective layer (usually with Micro-Scale decal film).

Anyhow, I hope you're able to figure out a way to keep the business running!

Those are the real issues.

The other issue is the cost of the printer
$4,000 plus toner cartridges
White toner for the OKI is $500+
Paper is double the cost of Alps compatible paper
Is it compatibility with clear coats?

I'm still unsure or the capability of the OKI printers plus the ink and paper is a lot more per decal than the Alps.

There is no printer that is specifically designed to make decals other than the Alps.

The more I look into the OKI printer the more confusing it gets.

I'm still researching it.

Thanks a whole bunch to Tim.
This guy is a class act all around.

While I will be printing I will only list the decals I have pre printed, not everything will be available.

I will be printing the most popular and most asked for decals, I won't be printing everything just yet.

Keep checking my web site or email me at

Awesome! Tim's a Prince!

There are many issues with the Oki printer the biggest one is price. You would have to charge a fortune for decals just to break even, let alone recoup the money you spent on the printer. Sad part is a knock off of the Alps printer is still being made for Foilfast, wish they could off a normal Alps printer option. Even at 1600 it is still cheaper than other options that are out there.

Perhaps they printed it wrong which does seem odd coming from a dealer.

An Alps printer won't print opaque unless you print a white undercoat AND a white top coat.

I have to talk to Tango Papa. He uses OKI printers.

Papa Tango uses OKI? Interesting. Last decals I got from him clearly showed the "banding" effect of an Alps going south. But that was a while back. Maybe that's what prompted him to go to OKI.
