Default Found an old Tornado at fleamarket!

I was at a weekly flea market today and found an old Estes "TORNADO" kit in mint condition, and the guy sold it to me for $2.00! I saw them on ebay for atleast $15.00. This was unexpected!

Any you guys(or gals!) out there ever find a deal like this?

The Tornado was in the catalog between 1989 and 1998. If Estes were producing that kit today, it would likely be priced in the $7 to $9 range. Case-in-point, the sticker price for the current-vintage Estes Alpha is right at $10. The Viking is around $7. I'd say you got a bargain even in 1989 dollars.

I would have to say that one of the best DEALS I ever found was as follows:

This guy who owned another hobby store near me said a customer came in with a box of old rocket stuff. She said it belonged to her son who had since grown up and moved away. He said the stuff must be old, but it looked brand new and asked me if I would be interested in it. He said there were a bunch of kits and some "blue tubes". When I got there he showed me the box of stuff which looked like it was shipped from Estes the day before... 2 Birdies, 1 balsa cone V-2, 1 Mark II and 2 Scouts all in early K-kit packaging. I tried not to squeal. I asked him how much he wanted for the stuff and he said aaah, just take it.
