Default Estes Mini Max

I couldn't resist since the Der Red Max is my favorite kit......Easy fast build with quality parts. I am still not too crazy about the white body tube, but that is just me. I really like the look of the old brown card board and balsa kits.

Wow, that's kewl. Somehow, in all the hullaballoo, I failed to grasp that this was a BT-50 downscale. I need to pick up a couple of these. I have a great idea for Die Zwei Max

The only thing missing is the white number for the nose cone. I have an Alps printer, so I might just have to make one.

This guy did a review on a BT-20 version a few years back. I like this quote "Small size and big performance aside, this is a kit that you would do well to pick up if you're a fan of the original, because no matter how many requests Estes gets for it, I guarantee that they won't be making the Max a candidate for reissue."
What a maroon. Not only have they reissued the original, they've done a downscale, too.
Wonder if there's any hope for an UPSCALE?

Yeah, sometimes the things we say have a way of coming back to bite us in the butt, don't they?

I picked up a Mini-Max last week at the LHS and paid their somewhat inflated price of $7.98. I was glad to do so, too. I've got a regular DRM, a Goonie Max, a Big Red Max, and have BT-70 upscale on the drawing board. The price of the decals and nosecone for the BT-80 upscale is giving me pause, tho!

You mean like the "Stretch DRM?"

Not to mention this one! (No, not me. (I wish, though!) Found via Google's image search)

I have 2.6" and 4" diameter DRMs along with an original Citation DRM, an early 80's vintage, a clone, and a slightly different shaped Blue Max, so I guess I need to do a Mini too.

Yeah, just like that.
Actually I was thinking of a BT-70 or BT-80 version. Or one on the Big Daddy scale.
