I agree. I agree with dougliss as well. Nicely done LPRs, blue skies, green grass, no distractions=simple pleasure and good fun.

Nine in the air? That's a pretty good session.
I have a B6-4 field close by. Between monthly section launches I have to get a few flights out of my system.

I was surprised at the end of the day when I counted up the launches. Nine in an hour and a half is a pretty decent rate. I flew eleven last Saturday and it took me all day, but the recovery walks were longer and someone else was in charge of the launch button.

I remember when you had posted about the Zepher 5 build ..... I had to search the forum to find the thread. I couldn't remember if it was a kit or something you designed.

I know the guy was slow to respond to you when you first got it from eBay but it's a pretty unique little rocket. Don't think I've ever seen anyone else post about a Zepher 5

Neat little bird once the bugs were shaken out, but that's what beta-builds are for. I've yet to see another.

[QUOTE=A Fish Named Wallyum]First flight for this original Big Bertha that I was the only bidder for on Ebay a long time ago.

Bill, Your Bertha has the factory paint scheme from the mid 70s to early 80s. Very cool! Could you post pics of it? Semroc has the Ranger in a retro repro kit with the same paint scheme. I may get the Ranger in the future sometime, but that paint job looks complex enough that I would probably need a template to get it right.

To simplify those paint scheme on both the Ranger and the Big Bertha, use Trim Monokote for the black stripes. This would be a lot less frustrating than masking off all of those black stripes. YMMV.

So I've heard. I did this one a long time ago, before I knew there was such a thing as Trim Monokote. I've since done a few stripe patterns with something similar and was pretty happy with the results.

Thanks for the tip; T-R-I-M M-O-N-O-K-O-T-E. I'll remember that. I just did a search on it and my LHS has it in the Topflite brand.
